Bill Walker

80 years old

Bill is the second eldest resident on Our Street and is certainly best known.  He has been about since anyone can remember.  Bill was born in 1928, some 20 years before the NHS ever existed, and only those who could afford it were treated. After trying various jobs, Bill found his true vocation as the projectionist of the local picture house which later became the ABC, and he stayed there until he retired. Bill was married to Jane who he met at the Picture House.  Sadly Jane passed away just last year, leaving Bill on his own.  Bill’s a sunny-side up kind of man and he has kept himself busy with life around the street, probably a bit too active considering he’s not as steady on his feet as he used to be and needs to use a walking stick.
